Ridgefield Aquatic Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, technically knowledgeable, and ethically sound Full-Time Assistant Coach committed to long-term athlete development. This is a Full-Time Assistant Coach position for those passionate about swimming and dedicated to sustainable growth. Ridgefield Aquatic Club is a private, nonprofit, coach-led, and parent-supported year-round organization serving swimmers from pre-competitive development to national-level training. The club competes in Connecticut Swimming. Base salary ranges from $49,000 to $55,000 USD based on experience and qualifications. Performance bonus up to $5,000. Health insurance stipend $5,250 annually, phone allowance $1,200, retirement contribution $1,000. 14 paid vacation days. Schedule includes weekday afternoons and evenings, meets, weekends, travel, and administrative hours. Start date mutually agreed. Key responsibilities include leading competitive or Olympic Way squads and providing coverage for other groups. Develop seasonal and daily training plans focusing on technique, age-appropriate progression, racing skills, physical literacy, and USA Swimming American Development Model. Create a safe, positive, disciplined, and motivating environment for swimmers of varied ages and abilities. Attend practices, meets, team events, staff meetings, and professional development. Support meet selection, eligibility, entries, relays, travel planning, deck assignments, and post-meet follow-up. Track attendance, athlete progress, goals, and observations. Communicate professionally with swimmers and families through approved channels. Follow USA Swimming Safe Sport requirements, MAAPP, Safe Sport Code, and RAC policies. Collaborate with Head Coach/CEO and squad leads for consistent curriculum. Contribute to recruitment, retention, tryouts, evaluations, clinics, and initiatives. Maintain administrative hours and provide updates. Requirements include prior competitive swim coaching experience and ability to teach stroke technique and racing skills. USA Swimming coach membership in good standing or ability to meet requirements before athlete contact. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate, accept feedback, exercise sound judgment, and communicate appropriately with minors and families. Preferred: Experience leading age-group or senior groups in a USA Swimming club. USA Swimming University education, American Development Model, ASCA coursework, or equivalent. Experience with meet-entry systems, athlete tracking, and parent communications. College degree in coaching, education, kinesiology, sport management, or related field.
