  1. Hey Natasha! I really enjoyed reading your blog. Modesty is such an incredible challenge today! About a year a go, I was looking for a modest dress I could wear to perform at weddings in (I'm a harpist). I could not find anything for under $500 or so. :( Long story short, I ended up starting a company with my best friends called Virtuous Prom. Our url is virtuousprom.com I hope you have a chance to take a minute and check it out. I'm really pleased to say that our price point is about half of current market value. What good is it to have modest options if no one can really afford them? Anyways, thanks for all the great articles. They're very encouraging and refreshingly honest.
    Best regards, Megan

    1. Thank you so much for commenting and letting me know you loved my blog. Modestly is a big challenge, that is true! I totally know how hard it is to find a modest dress, I have been there!! I am so impressed by you taking initiative to create a company that can help solve that problem. That is so cool. I will totally check out your webpage. Thank you for telling me about it and your story that led you to create it. I look forward to seeing what you have accomplished. Thanks again for reading my blog!! :)

  2. Thank you so much for posting this. I have saved it for my girls who are 8 and 10 to read when they get a little bit older. For now they abide by my clothing rules but I know as they get older it will become a topic of conversation and this gives me a view point from someone other than their mother.
    Thank you again.

    1. I am truly honored that you trust my words with your daughters. Thank you for letting me know that. I really hope when the time comes and you share my thoughts with them, that it will touch them for the better. I wrote this how I felt it would impact me at a younger age, so I hope that it does reach young girls the way I intended it too. Thank you for reading my blog!

  4. Natasha,
I live in Denver and read your blog in the Deseret News and absolutely love it! I am a parent of six and three being girls. The youngest girl is 18. Next week I am participating in an EFY at BYU and wanted to get both your permission to use this as well as show a shortened version of your VIMEO of your wedding that's on line. Would that be okay? Thank you for your wisdom and for the consideration!

    4. Well, it was absolutely what I wanted it to be! I pulled up your blog and projected it on the screen and had a YW read it. I also showed a few seconds of your video. They were bummed I didn't show more so I told them they should do that on their own. What happened next was amazing. We had 200+ girls in the room and they made comments for a good amount of time. We probably had close to 30 girls make comments and add their own testimony in support of modesty. Your article was well taken and they all had pleasant "sighs" when they saw your photo at the end with your husband. I just want to thank you for sharing your talents as well as for allowing me to use your material. You touched the lives of many YW this morning! Best to you now and in your future!!!

I'm staying in Malaysia. I wish to share with you an article, which maybe you can gain something, as how I have gained from your article.

  6. I really am enjoying your blog. I am having a hard time explaining to my friend why i feel it is inappropriate for her to wear her bikini even if it is like a sports bra and shorts in front of her Christian brothers and in the public. I had her read your latest post about modest isn't hottest. Do you have any ideas as to what i could say to her? or do you think bikinis are okay?

  7. Wonderful blog.... The post about Modesty is bang on. Modesty is not only in the dress but also the way one behaves. I've not seen a truly modest woman that isn't treated with immense respect. May sound strange, but it is the exact view of majority of muslim women and a majority of them are misunderstood to be oppressed or religious fanatics. Hope a lot of girls read your blog and do understand. Keep up the good work. -Anees

    1. Thank you for your comment! I agree that modesty is about how you behave and carry yourself as much as it is about how you dress. I respect Muslim women immensely and the way they carry themselves and hold strong to their faith. I am impressed by how many Muslim women have reached out to me in response to my blog post on modesty and share their faith and thoughts with me. They are remarkable! Thank you for your thoughts.

  9. Hello! I am 16 years old and I will be getting married this summer! I will be having a ceremony when i'm 18 though. This page has made me feel confident and gives me a way to refute the people who say i'm making a bad decision. Thank you :)

    1. Listen to your parents! And just remember, there is a big difference between an 18 or 19 year old girl getting married and a 16 year old. I got married at almost 19, wouldn't change it for the world, but that is still so young! Listen to the advice of your leaders, parents, and mentors. They have more life experience than you, and only want what's best for you. I don't think Natasha's blog was meant to encourage 16 year olds to get married. But good luck in your future, I wish you all the best.

  10. I just wanted you to know that I love your blog! I read it all the time. I too was married young, almost two years ago. I love reading about your happy little family. So far, my sweet husband and I have been unable to have children, something that is a major trial in our lives. But somehow, seeing your cute family makes me so excited for when I too will have that! I agree with and appreciate everything you have written. So, thank you!
